Patriots Fall at Final Hurdle

Superbowl XLII was a thriller. The Giants ruined the Patriots attempt to have a perfect season. The final score was 17-14 with the winning touchdown coming in the last minute. It must be heartbreaking for the Patriots players and fans to go so close to the perfect season.

The Patriots season goes to show it is tough being perfect. This is important to look at also in terms of internet marketing. Are you the type of person always looking to have the perfect website or write the perfect article and just end up getting nothing done?

Internet marketing allows you to seek the best outcome in your marketing efforts however it does not take perfection to be a success. An important aspect of marketing is testing and tracking. For instance if you have an adwords ad you should never just have one version of an ad.

Always have two versions of your ad and test the two ads side by side. After running them for a while check the performance stats and then delete the low performing ad text. Replace this to try to beat the best performer. Another use of multiple ads for the same ad group or keyword is that you can send the user to a different landing page to test variations.

Another interesting thing to come out of the Superbowl is the advertising. Companies pay millions for just 30 seconds of fame during the breaks. I wonder if the advertising executives that decide to spend these millions can tell us just how effective the ads were in attracting customers.

Internet marketers have a huge advantage as they can also use tracking to see just what ads brought in the customers. If you are advertising and not tracking results you are throwing cash away. There are various methods to track advertising. The key is to always test and track performance. Search engine PPC Internet marketing if done right can be the most effective form of advertising.

Internet marketers do not need to be perfect. They just need to be willing to get things done and always learn. It is alright to make mistakes so long as you learn from the mistake and look to improve. The key thing I want you to go away with is test, test and test some more.
